Focus Sessions (Seminars)

Focus sessions are meetings where we are able to explore topics of interest and become inspired! These meetings are often formatted like conferences although some require more group participation than others.  Each session is presented by a different leader in the community. There are even businesses that donate their time and/or products to make each session extra special. We have an event planner that helps coordinate the combined efforts of everyone who is involved in each session. Tickets for the sessions are often held on Eventbrite. Some of these sessions are free, while others require a fee for supplies or other expenses. The fee is never too high.  All of our sessions are meant to be a healthy time for the community to get together. In other words, we want everyone in the community to come and be inspired!

Topics vary from month to month. Some of our sessions include:

  • Inspire Me! Time with a life coach. How to get inspired and motivated along the path to change. 
  • The benefits of Art therapy. This session includes information on art and art therapy. Explore how art can help you make changes in your life and inspire you. We also paint our own picture with an artist. 
  • Aromatherapy. What is in a scent? Explore different scents that you can use to create different moods, motivate, and spark creativity. 
  • Exploring your seven chakras. The word chakra comes from the Sandskrit word that means wheel. Ancient people believed that the chakras were the energy force that actually rotates and spins inside each of us. When the chakras are moving at the right speed, then we feel healthy. If they start to spin too fast, or too slow, then the result is illness. Come learn how to open your chakras and prosper.  
  • Time with the nutritionist. What should an optimal food plan look like? What vitamins and minerals are important each and every day? What happens when we do not consume these nutrients? Thomas Jefferson believed that good health starts with healthy eating. Was he right? Bring your questions for this expert!
  • It's all about the back. This session includes time talking with a chiropractor and a massage therapist. What are the advantages and risks of each? What are the different kinds of massages and what are the benefits of each? What are the pressure points?Tell me about these.
  • Reiki time. What is the history of Reiki and how can this ancient alternative medicine improve our health? Does it have any benefits? How can you train to be a Reiki practitioner?
  • Pottery painting night. Come paint your own piece of pottery and relax.
  • Self-defense night! Learn how to defend yourself. This us great as an exercise and also helps keep you safer. 
  • A night of meditation. Explore the art of meditation as we relax and renew.
  • Talk time with a personal trainer. Hear their stories and learn how they entered the field. Also learn basic exercises to keep you healthier and more flexible. 
  • Motivational speakers.
  • Time with a belly dancer. Learn the art of belly dancing. You do not have to be fit to participate, although comfortable clothes is a  must. 
  • Learn the Hula. A gentle way to exercise and relax. Come and have some fun, while feeling like you are on the Pacific islands.
